I’ve been playing with my Lockdown Poem – poems are never finished

Our Lockdown Poem

Venus and her Moon
March-April 2020/24/26

Under lockdown sky so clear
She seems so bright, so clear
We, in our bay-windowed room
Thrill to watch bright Venus glow
Beside her Moon in nightly dance

Below, ghost buses sail on by
Full of lights, and nothing more
Lonely walkers lead their dogs
Key workers struggle home

Truth and lies and
‘Next slide, please’
Devices tell another story
‘New lies, please’

Above us still the stately walk:
One bright, one glowing sphere
Side by side, but cosmically distanced
They entrance and cheer
